May 2025 - VE 80 Day Concert

Northallerton Silver Band was delighted to present a special concert to commemorate VE 80 Day.  The concert was held in the New Life Baptist Church, High Street, Northallerton, a beautiful venue for this memorable evening.

The event was a rousing evening of remembrance, music, and community spirit, and a tribute to those who served and sacrificed during World War II.

Under the direction of Musical Director Stuart Shields, the band performed a selection of classic favourites and patriotic pieces such as We'll Meet Again, The White Cliffs of Dover, and I vow to thee my country. With lyrics provided, concertgoers were warmly encouraged to sing along — just as families did in the streets back in May 1945.

This concert not only honoured the past but also celebrated the enduring power of music to bring communities together in remembrance and joy.
